How do you get a dog to leave the kitten alone?

Please don’t tell me to have the dog put down or anything I just want to know how to get them to get along or something.
I am only petsitting Sierra for a couple days, but I don’t want to take the chance in her doing that to my kitten again.

It’s very small and have long straight hair. The size of the TACO BELL DOG (I can not spell it). Will the vet be able to tell me, what kind it is? Or do I have to go to a humane society or something like that?

Dad’s cat passed away in February of this year and he’s been talking about getting a dog ever since. Dad talks about getting a Lab or a border collie, but I don’t think either one of those dog breeds would be the most compatible with our 2 cats. Mom’s 7 year old cat is very territorial of the back porch and attacks any animal that comes on or near it and my 14 year old cat runs whenever an animal comes in the house. Mom’s alllergic to dog hair, so we can’t have a longhaired breed dog. What kind of dog gets along well with cats, because Dad’s starting to get serious about getting a dog?

Well my mom really wants to get a dog and seems very serious. She wants a small dog that will not be to loud and obedient. Their is a 12 year old son and a 15 year old girl in the family.My mom likes chihuahuas but I heard those weren’t great to keep with kids and were a bit nippy and loud.
