I am looking for an all natural (preferably with common household ingredients) to alleviate my dog urine odor problem on my carpets. I am very sensitive to smells(migraines) so I need something with no perfumy smells. Any help would be appreciated

My dog has a skin problem on her back just before her tail and now spreading down the tail, and looks to be forming on the insides of the legs too. The skin is red and brown, some scabs, and some puffy/raised sores. The hair is thinning in these areas and where it has grown back it is short and coarse. It is very itchy and she bites at it and rolls on her back. This happened around the same time last year then went away. But its way worse this time and shes going to the vet, just wondering what disease or parasite this is?

I’m baby sitting my sister’s dog and every time someone walks in the room she pees. We have to tie her leash to a chair so she can’t get into the family/living rooms where the carpets are. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong with her? Apparently she had the same problem at my sister’s house only not as bad.
When I say we tied her to a chair, I don’t mean we tied her so she can’t move. She can walk around the kitchen but that’s all or else she walks onto the carpet when someone comes down stairs and then she pees.

I recently adopted a one year old dog from a pound. He is a very loving boy and wouldn’t harm a fly. My problem with him is that he has a submissive urination problem. Whenever he thinks he is in trouble (even when he doesn’t do anything) he cowers down and pees. I don’t allow him on my bed anymore because he pees on it everytime we come in the room and find him up there. I’ve never banned him from the bed before because our other dog gets up there.
I don’t know what happened to him with his last owner, but I would guess by his behavior that it was not a pleasant experience.
If anyone knows what I can do to help him with his problem, without putting him on meds, I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks!!
Nice first answer…I do not beat my animals, he has been this way since we got him.

My dog uses the back yard as her toilet and recently as the weather has been getting hotter, there is a strong smell of urine which is embarrassing when visitors come over and I let my dog out to pee. I do clean up after her and water the pee down but the smell is still very strong. The floor is earth not slabs. Does anyone know how i can remove the embarrassing smell?
I feed her pedigree dry food mixed with butchers tin food and occasionally some rawhide, tripe, pig ears.

As black Labradors go, “Sophie” is a big one at 120 lbs. Not fat, just big. I’m six feet and she can put her paws on my shoulders and we dance.

She came to me by my son, who was walking along the railroad tracks one day, and found her, with two siblings and their mother. The mother and siblings had been killed by the train but Sophie made it and rode home in the pocket of my son’s army field jacket. That’s a true story.

Of course this must have been traumatic and may have had some bearing on her disability.

Everyone always comments with things like, “Gee, she’s a smart dog,” or “Your dog is so smart,” or “That’s the smartest dog I’ve ever seen,” etc.

The problem is, she’s almost four years old and she still moves her lips when she reads. How can I correct this?
Addendum: Thanks for sharing in the fun. I couldn’t possibly pick a best answer with so many great ones, so I’ll let this go to a vote.

Thanks again for the answers, and Sophie says hello……………..

My Sheltie shows a lot of potential. She runs the course perfectly except she will NOT do the see-saw. She gets on it and just freezes. She is obviously scared of the movement. We started with one very low to the ground but it didn’t make a difference. If I go on the other end and move it down, she’ll finish it but she won’t walk on it and let it go down with her weight. The noise doesn’t scare her, just the movement. I’ve tried putting little treats every few inches till the end but she she just goes a little bit and then freezes again. I use a lot of praise. She had the same problem with the dog walk and she finally, does it perfectly and fast! Does she just need more time??? We’ve only taken maybe 10 classes total and I have no place to practice. Could I make a homemade see-saw or would a child’s one work for practice? Any more suggestions? Oh, she is a 10 month old Sheltie!
