Can a dog get jealous and pee in the house?

I have a 2 year old dog and she is fully house trained. She has never gone in her crate or in the house by accident. But if my friends dog is in our house, or we go over my brother’s house for a holiday, she’ll pee on the rug. Does anyone else have this problem? I guess she’s jealous or something. I yell at her but every once in awhile she’ll do it. How can I get her to stop? I’m not going to tell my friend to leave her dog home, and I can’t give her 100% attention at a party.

Dogs have a tendency to act out of the normal, when they feel like they aren’t being given attention anymore. They know that by doing certain things, you have no choice but to notice them.
Your dog is marking it’s territory
Yes, she is jealous. My dog does the same thing. You have to spank her firmly on the butt and rub her nose in it. Let her know you are mad.
she gets nervous around other dogs is my guess, ive seen dogs that do that its anxiety.
I pissed mine off and he p[eed on me once. I brought another dog in the house
Just as males mark their territory, so will females if they feel the need. But dogs are also just like people and they will find ways to act out to get attention. So yes, it very well could be jealousy.
As she is two years old this just appears to be a behavioral issue. So if you are having a party and can’t watch her 100% of the time, it sounds like you may have to have her outside or in the crate when you can’t watch her. Then when you are watching her, make sure to give her a good amount of attention so she doesn’t feel neglected, and continue scolding her when she does do it. That is really all you can do!
i think its more of excitement, then jealousy,, dogs will do that when excited,,,, try to make sure she has gone, before you take her into anyones house,,,, make sure and give her some attention, when the party is starting,, that should help her calm down,,,also if possible to have her outside (fenced in) would be good,, for part of the time, or a large laundry room,,,, just some place she could calm her nerves/excitement
She is just marking her territory. Keep her in her crate while the other dog is there. And why can’t your friend leave her dog at home? I think it is kind of rude to bring a dog over when she knows your dog will pee on your rug. I would never bring my dogs over if they caused problems for someone else.
Its caused by excitement. SHe’s still just getting over her puppy stage of life. You’ll have to think for her and keep her bladder empty when people or dogs are coming over to visit.
Scent marking in both cases. Just as she’s about to do her little job grab her and get her outside quick.
It is more territorial than anything else. yes I am sure there is a bit of jealousy there too.
I know she is a female but it sounds like she marking. and yes it is because of the other dogs
yes your dog is jealous. I had the same problem with my German Shepard when we brought in another dog.
